Not really what you’d call a ‘hot hatch’ Suzuki’s new Swift Sport is a fun little car to drive with perky performance and handling and plenty of standard kit including a decent array of advanced driver assist technology.
It runs a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol four cylinder engine lifted from the Vitara Turbo and is good for a handy 103kW and 230Nm, sufficient to propel the 970kg five door hatch with some purpose.
But thrashing it around a track is not what the little Zook is all about.
It’s a cheeky city runabout with more performance and driver engagement that your regular little hatch.
Sport is all about being easy to park, nippy in traffic, cheap to run and provides plenty of technology to keep you engaged.
Does a fine job of it too at an affordable $25,490 for the manual, a couple more for the six speed auto.
