Subaru Levorg GTS Spec B

Price $52,890

A WRX wagon by any other name, Subaru’s Levorg has plenty to put a smile on your face as long as you don’t expect it to perform at the track where the weight and CVT transmission conspire to hold you back.

It’s a fast wagon and in Spec B GTS form, has performance STi parts and all the bells and whistles, a full compliment of safety equipment including Subaru’s excellent `Eyesight” camera system that monitors everything from cruise control to pedestrian safety.

The GTS specifies quality Bilstein suspension for a sporty drive feel.

The 2.0-litre, four pot boxer turbo engine is good for 197kW/350Nm output which is plenty for the nearly 1600kg Levorg.

It clocks a 0-100kmh in around 6.0 seconds and can achieve as good as 8.7-litres/100km economy – driven carefully and on at least 95 RON fuel.

The CVT `auto,’ called Lineartronic, offers a stepped function just like a conventional automatic and minimal CVT-style slurring when you plant the right foot.

It has a luxury air inside with minimal noise and plenty of stylish touches that set it apart from lesser Imprezas, plus the facility of the large load space in the rear, big enough for a push bike or to sleep in with the rear seats folded.

Plenty of advanced driver assist stuff too. Goodies include, multi mode SI drive select, auto high beam, adaptive cruise, electric park brake, blind spot monitor, lane keeping assist, cross traffic alert, premium audio and….. an ECO gauge??
